Encyclopedia of the Medieval Chronicle.

"The Encylopedia of the Medieval Chronicle is to appear in Leiden in October 2010. This two-volume reference work gives details of over 2500 chroniclers and chronicles from around Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Written by some 450 scholars from many countries, the articles give not only basic information on the nature and content of the texts, but in many cases also discussions of issues of current research. There are also several major contributions by art historians. An important feature is the attempt to identify the key manuscripts for every work. Among the manuscripts discussed are several from the Archivo-Biblioteca de la Catedral de Santiago: the Codex Calixtinus and the codices of the Historia Compostellana."
