Sedes Sapientiae.

Hemos recibido en el ACS separata del artículo "A Sedes Sapientiae from Leon. Second half of the twelfth century", del experto en arte y escultura medieval Marc Antoine du Ry. Este estudio profundiza en una escultura románica sobre madera de la Virgen entronada con el Niño en brazos datada en el siglo XII, y a la cual se buscan paralelos, entre otras figuras, con imágenes regias como la de la reina Urraca, en el tumbo A de la Catedral de Santiago.

 

Un interesante trabajo que pone en contacto distintos tipos de fuentes.

We recept one copy of the article "A Sedes Sapientiae from Leon. Second half of the twelfth century",  wrote by the romanesque art and sculpture expert Marc Antoine du Ry. This research goes deep in one sculpture on Wood of the Virgin in a throne with Jesús, dated on 12th century, and searching many comparisons; one of them is the figure of the Queen Urraca in the Tumbo A of the Cathedral.

 

An interesting work of research that puts together several and different historical sources.
